Conneaut Community Foundation, and Ashtabula Foundation Improve CHRC

Through the help of the Conneaut Community Foundation and The Ashtabula Foundation, the Conneaut Human Resources Center was able to replace a big portion of the sidewalk in front of the building. This project was much needed as the sidewalk was in very poor shape.
Through grant funds received by the Foundations the CHRC was able to accomplish this project that has been on the agenda for a few years.

The Conneaut Human Resources Center Board of Directors and the entire staff would like to thank the Conneaut Community Foundation, and the Ashtabula Foundation for their assistance in helping the CHRC complete this project.

Special Thanks to Gary Gersin

I would like to thank Mr. Gary Gersin for doing a wonderful job on creating the Conneaut Human Resources Center website.

Conneaut Sock Hop - Soapbox Derby June 15 & 16

With two events slated for the weekend of June 15 & 16 people of all ages will most certainly have their choice of something fun and exciting to do.

The Downtown Conneaut Sock Hop Friday June 15 will feature plenty of Classic Cars, along with contests such as a 50's - 60's Dress up Contest, Hula Hoop & Bubble Gum Blowing Contest. Plenty of food and beverages will be on hand or stop by any of the downtown food establishments for a bite. Entertainment will be provided by two bands The "KINGPINS", and "MATTY B. Anyone who has an old cell phone is encouraged to bring it down to the Sock Hop and turn it in to be recycled. Recycled cell phones will benefit our local area Seniors of the Conneaut Human Resources Center Seniors Together Program.

Everyone is also encouraged to bring a canned good or non-perishable food item to benefit the Conneaut Human Resources Emergency Food Assistance Program.

Conneaut Rotary Club Golf Outing to benefit Local Organizations

The Conneaut Rotary Club is having their annual golf outing on Friday July 13, 2007 at the Windy Hill Golf Course. Last Year was such a tremendous success that the Conneaut Rotary Club gave half the proceeds to the Conneaut School System. The $4,000 that was given to the Conneaut School System was used to place new playground equipment for the children in the pre-school program at the Southeast Amdministration building.

This year the Rotary Club is planning to generously contribute funds from the Golf Outing to the following organizations; CLYO, Conneaut Community Center for the Arts, The Conneaut Salvation Army, and the Conneaut Human Resources Right Track Program.

The Conneaut Rotary Club is hoping to exceed last year's earnings so that may give generous contribtuions to each of the organizations they have designated to receive the proceeds from the golf outing.

I encourage anyone who is an avid golfer to play in this event. If you are a business then I encourage you to be a hole sponsor. Please help the Rotary Club support our community in which we all live, work, and play.

For more information contact Kori Marcy Zappitelli at (440)-265-9011 or (440)-593-4253

GE Conneaut Base Plant Paint CHRC

On Tuesday and Wednesday May 29 / 30, 2007 management from the Conneaut General Electric Plant painted the North wall of the Conneaut Human Resources Center. This was a much welcomed project as the wall had been marked with graffitti for years and due to a lack of resources we were not able to address the problem.
The Conneaut Human Resources Board of Directors and the entire staff appreciate what General Electric Conneaut Base Plant has done for us.
